About MeI am a painter. After several years studying different methods and works of art, I found my creative niche with a paintbrush. I work mainly in oil paint, but occasionally in acrylic paint, and can still be found sketchpad and pencil in hand on a regular basis.
I let my ideas roam and the product is a varied collection of inspired pieces. Most recently, my vision has been to find the coexistence between natural animal patterns and their artificially created counterpart. I am intrigued by the juxtaposition of symmetry between predictable shapes and colors and the organic (and at times erratic) patterns found on the animal bodies. When I began, I was working only with the animal’s natural patterns, like the striking shapes and colors in my jaguar painting. But then I pushed the idea further, seeking the pattern that existed outside of the animal, while still connected to it. The first piece in this series was the tree frog, who proudly displays his round crimson eyes among other bold primary circles. I have found great inspiration in this collection, and I am continuing to push this idea even more with larger paintings in my studio.
